About the SusqueCentennial

Harrisburg celebrates the 150th anniversary of when it received its charter as a city on March 19, 1860. Our rich history reveals the strength of character that has made our city one of achievement, innovation and diversity. Join us as we gain a deeper appreciation of Harrisburg’s past while envisioning an even brighter future.

The Harrisburg SusqueCentennial Commission, Inc., is a non-profit Pennsylvania corporation, created by Mayor Stephen R. Reed to showcase and strengthen Harrisburg’s unique heritage, rich diversity and enduring prominence through planning, funding and implementing projects celebrating the 150th anniversary of the incorporation of Harrisburg as a City.

An affiliation agreement with the Harrisburg Parks Partnership was established for the purpose of utilizing the Partnership’s 501(c) (3) tax exempt status so that the Commission can receive contributions that are tax deductible.
