Imagine 150 murals – permanent and movable – throughout the Harrisburg community that illustrate our city’s fascinating history and culture. “Paint the Town” will transform our city with unique murals depicting historical events, neighborhood culture and social issues. The murals will be created from Midtown to Allison Hill and from Uptown to Shipoke. One of the largest, most significant public art initiatives in the history of our community is made possible through a partnership between the City of Harrisburg, the SusqueCentennial Commission, BARAK, Inc., the Harrisburg School District, supported by public and private sponsors. Citizens of all ages will be invited to join us as we “Paint the Town” to celebrate our rich history, strong spirit and diverse traditions.
